Potential years of Life lost Because of Diabetes per 100,000 population. N.d.
Just Thinking... Ralph , n.d. Web. 21 Mar. 2011. <http://www.just-thinking.com/2010_04_01_archive.html>This chart shows that 99% of the USA has had lives lost to diabetes. New Zealand is next in line and they only have 64%; that is a 35% difference, this is major. This shows that we need more Endocrinologist in the USA, more people to take an interest in this job field, more people to save lives. My family was not suffering from diabetes in our home, but now we are and even I am going to become an Endocrinologist.
This statistic is very shocking! Unfortunately, my grandparents, parents, siblings, and I suffer from some form of diabetes, so I know that this graph holds validity. I lost my eldest brother in 2008 to complications of diabetes, and unfortunately, he has not been the only one. I am glad that you have decided to become an Endocrinologist because it is greatly needed. My question is, "In addition to Endocrinologists, what other occupation do you feel is needed to help those suffering from diabetes?"
ReplyDeleteSarah, This statistic is very shocking. With all the technological advances the U.S. has today we can still not help this ongoing problem. I would have never thought that the U.S. was at the top of the list. The fact that you want to become a endocrinologist really shows how dedicated you are to your topic. You are doing an excellent job on your blog so far and i wish you luck.
